The Scott Sportster series is slightly different from your usual hybrid offering in that it is geared more to offroad outings. With the 63mm travel front fork, which has lockout capability, trail riding is that bit more comfortable . Pair that with the disc brakes and triple chainset then you have a hybrid that can handle more of the rough stuff.
When the CR1 first came about it was the road race bike of choice. Since then it has evolved into more of a sportive machine designed for comfort over stiffness. The CR1 now sits in the more affordable range of the carbon road bike spectrum, but still offers a very competitive ride with equipment to match.
