BUYERS GUIDE TO : RACE BIKES

Race bikes aren't the only bikes that can be raced however those who want to focus on out and out speed tend to choose this kind of bike. Race bikes are what you see in The Tour de France - bikes aimed at going as fast as possible without compromise.

There is less of an emphasis on comfort so you'll find greater aerodynamics and stiffer frame constructions for fast acceleration. For those of you wanting a road bike to spend hours in the saddle at any time, look elsewhere as speed heads need only apply. Thats not to say these bikes can't be ridden 100 miles or more, however we think other bikes may be a better bet for this.

Bikes worth considering in this category include the Specialized Tarmac or perhaps the Cannondale Super Six
