Action Packed Weekend For Hargroves RT
Race team riders were out in force taking part in events that covered cyclocross, mountain biking and road disciplines.
In a fast paced race Jody Crawforth secured a 3rd place finish at the second Winchester Crit which was again well
supported and received by the local community. Jody was part of a break of 6 that escaped on the 2nd lap
including Andy Hargroves and Ritchie Mardle of Felt-Colbournes- Hargroves and winner Al Murison. They quickly gained a 30
second advantage which they held for the rest of the race culminating in a group sprint for the line. Jody showed good form coming
into the cross season and looks ready for his first outing on the new Ridley’s!
Steve James was racing at the last round of the National XC series, he came 7th on the day but took a 3rd place overall ranking for the series.
Steve has had a very strong series through the year despite picking up a few punctures he has consistently been on the podium whilst competing in world
cups around the world. It has certainly been a very good summer for Steve as he will now have a short break before getting ready for the cross season!
A little further away across the channel Tom Van Den Bosch won his road race in Gravenwezel (Belgium). Tom escaped in the last couple of kilometres to take a deserved victory in difficult slippery conditions. Understandably he was delighted as it was his first win under the Hargroves RT colours as he builds his form having had an unlucky finish to last winter breaking his shoulder he is certainly looking to make amends and hit the ground running this winter!
Matt Macdonald continued his winning form with back to back wins (Round 3 & Round 4) at the Cotswold Veldrijden Summer cyclocross series at the Newbury showground.
This win also managed to get Matt 2nd in the overall standings for the Summer series.
