Koppenberg Cross – November 2015
Koppenberg Cross, one of Belgium’s classic races that is always held on the 1st of November. It takes in one of Belgiums famous cobbled climbs and the spectacular decent in the field next to it. This is a race that Ian has always enjoyed and lead for the 2 laps a couple of years ago. Yet again Ian pulled off another spectacular ride getting into the top 15 early on and staying there until the finish coming home in 14th place.
Harry Yates rode in the Junior race and finished an amazing 23rd place having been gridded in 64th place, Harry has shown real maturity this year having moved up to the junior age category. He’s is now really looking forward to the rest of the season and the mud coming which suits his style!.
The previous day Harry had another fine result in the Niels Albert CX race finishing in 11th place in amongst strong competition.
Jody Crawforth returned after the birth of his 2nd child to win at round 7 of the Wessex league in Winchester. A great margin of victory showing the lack of sleep isn’t doing Jody too much harm. Steve Davies won the V50 race and the ever improving Pete Hargroves finished in 24th place, a huge improvement on the 50th place at his first race back! Crispin Doyle finished in 3rd place in the Vet 40 race.
Next up for the team is Round 3 of the national trophy in Durham.
