National trophy Round 5
This weekend brought Round 5 of the National trophy series in Bradford. A long standing race that has always encouraged great racing
and a lot of luck for the team! So it continued as Ian Field took the win, his 3rd of the series! The win brought with it the leader’s
yellow jersey with 1 round remaining! After a week of illness Ian rode a very professional race to claim victory at the same place he took
his 2nd national title in 2012. Steve James recovered to 5th after missing his pedal on the start line, Jody Crawforth finished in 7th place
to maintain his solid position in the series. Ian, Jody and Steve are 1st, 3rd and 4th in the over series going into the final round.

Ben Tulett took the win in the U14 youth race in fine style taking the lead on the first lap
of the slippery course and never looking back, taking the win by just under a minute he is now in a unbeatable position going into the final
round! Harry Yates took 2nd in the Under 16 youth race to take himself into the yellow leaders jersey for the final round, Harry is certainly enjoying
the mud and has progressed brilliantly throughout the season!
In other races, Steve Davies finished 4th in the Over 50’s category. Crispin Doyle finished in 5th place in the over 40’s race.
Elsewhere, Matt MacDonald took the win in the Wessex League getting a good lead on the 2nd lap and then holding it all the way to the finish.
Thank you to our pit crew this weekend, they were priceless in there help to keep all of our riders on clean bikes and at the front of the races!
The Hargroves RT would like to thank everyone for their support this year. We’ll be back in 2015, so until then we hope everyone has a very
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
