Weekend Race Roundup: Dan Tulett Wins Koksijde World Cup Support Race
Another very busy weekend for the Hargroves Cycles Race Team with riders in action in The koksijde World Cup, the Wessex League and also the South West League.
Big news of the weekend was Dan Tuletts victory in the World Cup Support Race at Koksijde. In a race where Dan was up against the best riders in the world this victory is nothing short of outstanding. The podium photo says it all – Dan stands above the Belgian National Champion and Fidea Team Rider Alessio Dhoore and also a BKCP Poweplus rider – the same team as Niels Albert!
Ian Field was riding the Elite Race at Koksijde but suffered some bad luck with only a few laps to go. With a huge British crowd behind him Ian crossed the line in 28th place but was looking set for a top 20 up until the incident.
In the Wessex League Andrew Hargroves won the senior race with Steve James 2nd, Matt Macdonald 4th and Matt Hargroves 5th. In the vets category Crispin Doyles unbeaten run finally came to an end as he was overpowered to finish a creditable third place. Crispin still comfortably leads the vets league.
Down in the South Western League Steve Davies won the senior race out alone from around the half way point. Steve has great form at the moment and as a Vet he competes locally in the senior races.
