Wessex Cyclo-cross League – Round 9

Round nine of the Wessex Cyclocross League belonged to Steve James.

Having to start the race way back on the grid Steve moved quickly and efficiently to the front of the pack and in just two laps was ready to make his winning break. Going full gas, Steve powered through the worsening course conditions to take the win with an overall lead of 2 minutes and 27 seconds.

In the Veteran 40 race Crispin Doyle was also victorious. Despite suffering a mechanical failure in the closing stages of the race, Crispin quickly jumped onto his spare bike to take the win by a very slender 4 seconds.

Nick Barnes won the latest round of the Yorkshire points series. For Nick’s next race he’ll be trading in the mud for the sands of Koksijde, Belgium for the next round of the World Cup. He’ll also be be joined by Ian Field. Don’t forget you can catch all of the action on the UCI Youtube channel.
